The American Institute for
Cancer Research and the World Cancer Research Fund recently published a report detailing how a
diet high in animal fats increases the risk of cancer. This isn't new
information, but it's another powerful reason in support of a plant-based diet.
Predictably, the pork and
cattle industries believe the review and analysis of over 7,000 scientific
studies is somehow wrong. In a USA Today article, a representative from the National Cattlemen's Association went so far
as to state there is no evidence red meat causes cancer! I hope you will send the
report to friends, coworkers, and family members interested in being health-conscious
consumer, especially as the holidays approach.
